Pat Silbert works with the natural world, often along the Potomac River including the trees and birds. She combines landscape and ancient spiritual images, both Buddhist and Irish. Her paintings reflect a love of nature and a belief in the interconnectedness of all life. From this spiritual perspective her work is a form of meditation. Silbert’s work can be seen as a bridge between the human world and the natural world…she intends to create for us a reminder of sacred values held in the earthy natural world.

These paintings are in acrylic on handmade papers collaged on to canvas with gold leaf.

Silbert has belonged to Waverly Gallery for 20 years. She has shown in the Washington DC area for many years at Zenith Gallery, Kornblatt Gallery, Fendrick gallery, and others. She studied at George Washington University, The Corcoran Art School and holds a BA in Psychology from Goddard College and an MFA in writing from Vermont College. Silbert worked successfully for many years as a graphic designer. She lives in the Washington, DC area and in Jaffrey, New Hampshire in the summer.
